A Day In the Life of a Sports Agent

Even though sports agents do not work the typical eight hour day 9 to 5 shift, their schedules are jam packed. It can be a long and hectic day, so many agents start their day with physical fitness to help get their mind right and relieve stress. After working out, agents get to their offices and immediately start working. Typically, agents will start their work by calling all their clients to check in and handle any blaring situations. For agents, it is really important to have strong and lasting relationships with their existing clients to keep them happy and make sure they are getting the attention and guidance they deserve. Even if a client does not really have a problem, it is always good for a sports agent to ask how they are doing and what is going on in their personal life. After an agent has wrapped up his clients calls, it will be pretty close to lunch time. Most agents spend lunch with clients, representatives, or use the time to look at potential clients profiles. When agents are scouting potential clients, they need to make a quick decision whether or not they want to sign the player in discussion. If they are not, the player could possibly sign with another firm. Throughout the rest of the day, agents finish up anything else they need to do. Whether it be meetings, getting endorsement deals, or going to see clients. Even though this seems like a normal day in the office, sports agents can potentially spend up to four months of the year traveling the globe.
